Fool's Paradise

Janet Davis

I'll be closing down the studio early on Friday to attend the opening of this new exhibit at The REACH- I hope to see a huge crowd there!  The Opening Reception starts at 4pm.

When I met Myles Burry, he was a cute little Wesleyville kid taking my drawing classes in the loft of Norton's Cove Studio.  I remember his mom telling me that he had chosen art classes over hockey, and my heart grew three sizes too big.  And now he's like a major deal.  He's the Artist in Residence right now at Union House Arts.  The work he's creating gives me thrills as I recognize the objects from our shared cultural heritage that has inspired him.

The REACH is located next to the water tower in Wesleyville- look for the war memorial and drive to the end of the lane.  Parking is at the rear of the building up a short steep turn to the left.

I have a piece of Artwork signed by Myles in 2005.It’s a drawing of a sailboat. He may have been 9 or 10 at the time.I even had it framed and it’s still janging on our family room wall.I am glad that he chose Arts over Hockey …much safer!
Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing you at the Reach!
