My view of the tickle in beautiful Bonne Bay today

BBARS Art & Science Residency

Janet Davis

A boat ride in a Silver Dolphin 25 started the day off right.  A crew of scientists and artists who appreciated all the glory of the outdoors, the sea, and its contents!  A quick sighting of a minke whale in the tickle was a highlight.  Most of the others went snorkeling, but I didn't bother trying, as every time I get in the water, an emergency situation generally occurs; I'll save the government the rescue and medical bills by playing it safe and staying dry.

That excursion was followed up by a bit of mat hooking, some time with the aquarium's creatures, and then an afternoon planning my portion of the artist talk (happening this Saturday at 2 right here at BBARS, if you're in the area).

We feasted on cod at The Cat Stop Waterfront Pub this evening, and called it a day.  Best fish & chips I've had in quite some time, with great company and some pretty overqualified servers, too!

Tomorrow, the Bonne Bay Aquarium and Research Station is open to the public from 12-5 if you'd like to stop by for a visit!
