Captain Job Kean & Virtue Hann

My studio was built as a general store by this couple, Job & Virtue Kean back around 1890. Job was from Flower's Island (just outside Wesleyville), and Virtue was from Middle Bill Cove (Cape Freels). They are both buried in the cemetery in Brookfield which I can see from my office as I type. Although they were dead long before I was born, I feel a connection to them as I live in the house they lived in, and I work in the building where they worked. I've read boxes of their personal letters and I still have furniture and household items that they purchased.
Do you feel connected to unrelated people of the past?
