Captain Job Kean & Virtue Maria Hann

My studio was built as a general store by this couple, Job & Virtue Kean back around 1890. Job was from Flower's Island (just off Wesleyville), and Virtue was from Middle Bill Cove (Cape Freels). They are both buried in the cemetery in Brookfield which I can see from my office as I type. Although they were dead long before I was born, I feel a connection to them as I live in the house they lived in, and I work in the building where they worked. I've read boxes of their personal letters and I still have furniture and household items that they purchased. I know Aunt Virtue's handwriting, and more about their past than most of my own grandparents!
Do you feel connected to unrelated people of the past?
Or do you have a story about Aunt Virtue and Capt'n Job to share?
