Christmas Craft Fair Prep

Christmas Craft Fair Prep

Janet Davis

If you're a Craft Fair lover, you go see the show to shop from your favourite local makers, and see all the pretty twinkling lights and the beautiful displays.  It can be overwhelming to see the wealth of skills and creativity that our craftspeople and artists display.

But behind the scenes, it's quite a lot of grunt work.

Last night, Duke and Fred lugged the big booth set from the shed and put it together in the studio, right in the gallery/press room.  The pieces needed some changes made, as we wanted to make some changes from our last year's set-up.  The woodworking changes made, I put a fresh coat of paint on the walls this afternoon, as it was quite scuffed up and grubby looking.  We've also decided to change the lighting situation, as our old lights (c. 2003) have not been working great.  Tomorrow I'll arrange all the artwork on the walls and set up all the sales equipment and shelving in the little closet.  I'll show you what I come up with tomorrow night!

Back to packaging new mini-prints until it's time for bed!
