BBARS Art & Science Residency

Janet Davis

Today started out kinda slow after a poor sleep- but I hauled myself out of bed and went for a very refreshing walk in the rain around Shoal Point.  That got my heart pumping and my joints warmed up for an afternoon of mat hooking and talking to visitors at the Bonne Bay Aquarium & Research Station.  I'm making good progress on my 'silver darlings' mat!

I also spent some time in the aquarium asking the tour guides questions about all the sea creatures.  The sea urchins, tiny flat fish, and tiny lobsters- I could watch them all day.  Fascinating to see them up so close and to be able to ask questions of someone who has been studying them in depth is great.

The aquarium is open again 12-5 tomorrow, and all three of us artists-in-residence are giving talks tomorrow afternoon at 2pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

And remember to leave a comment on any blog post to have your name entered for a gift card at the end of the month!
