Red sky in the morning
Sailor's warning
Red sky at night
Sailor's delight

There was a beautiful red sunrise this morning around 7am.

At 8:10am 3 artists and 2 scientists gathered at the wharf and climbed into a boat to go for a wee excusion.  The rain was just starting to mist.  The day was grey, and a little cool.  The people who thought snorkelling would be a good idea had a very cold experience, ("refreshing", B called it, but was too cold to do air quotes) while I was the driest and warmest person to return in my full wet weather gear.  The scenery, as always, was beautiful.  But my hands were too cold and wet to take pictures.  We saw a family of three little mink on the shore, as well as more cool rocks and flotsom.  By the time we got back indoors, the rain was coming on hard.  And it kept up all afternoon.

With the weather outside being frightful, I got lots of mat hooking done!  All the fish are now complete, and I have started working on the sky and water gradients of blue and green.  Probably a couple of weeks worth of work left to do on  Silver Darlings yet.

As a tribute to Dr. Hooper (1946-2025), admission to the aquarium is by donation to a scholarship fund in his name this weekend at the Bonne Bay Aquarium and Research Station (BBARS).  We're open to the public 12-5 tomorrow and Sunday too.
