BBARS Art & Science Residency
Janet Davisclick to share this post with your friends & family!
I'm just about to hit the road, dropping off my fellow artist-in-residence at the airport, and heading home.
I've had a great time here at the Bonne Bay Aquarium and Research Station, and I want to thank everyone who had a hand in making this happen:
- Thank you to Brayden for telling me about the residency opportunity in the first place, and
- to Duke for encouraging me to apply
- to the people who chose me as one of the first 6 artists to take part in this new program out of 155 applicants (I'm still in shock about that!)
- to the staff at BBARS for keeping me fed & caffeinated, and for keeping the place so clean and user friendly
- to Bob, my favourite Fish Biologist
- to my fellow artists, Julie & Tanja, for being friendly and easy to talk to
- to my fan club for all the texts, comments on the blog, personal visits, and even a fancy night out on the town in Neddie's Harbour! I feel very loved and respected.
And a huge THANK YOU to the folks at the Grenfell Art Gallery & Creative Gros Morne who, with BBARS, had the foresight to see that Art & Science go together hand in hand. I am certain that open minds will fix all the world's problems, and this kind of collaboration between different training and ways of thinking is a great move.
I'll be back in my studio tomorrow!

Thank you Claire! Your kind words mean the world to me! ♥
Chatted with Duke at election the other day and I asked about your artist residency. He reminded me of your daily blog posts. So I finally had a read through them tonight! This is excellent Janet… well done. Very inspirational. The photos are beautiful and reminded how much I love that area. And as always I love the work you are producing.
