This image was designed based on some of the cards sent home by our Newfoundland Regiment soldiers during the 1st world war. The forget me not was the poppy of the day.
The lino cut relief print, in gold ink, was printed on 100% cotton fabric (bleached for a worn effect), and hand embroidered using cotton and metallic threads.
There are 12 in the series, 9 of which were included in the Forget Me Not exhibition at the Craft Council's Annex Gallery in October of 2016.
The framed pieces measure 10 inches high x 12 inches wide.
Frames are wooded, a deep sepia colour with gold accent.
